Annabel Lee (musician)

Annabel Lee is a musician (most notably a violinist) and translator. She is married to and collaborates with Michael Moynihan with whom she has a child.

Literary work

Lee translates books and articles including by Christian Rätsch and Julius Evola. She and Michael Moynihan publish books as Dominion Press. She writes for various esoteric zines and journals including Tyr and Runa.

Musical work

Lee compromises one half of Blood Axis, creates music under her solo project Alraune and has collaborated extensively with Waldteufel. She was a member of Amber Asylum and has worked with various musicians, including Fire + Ice, In Gowan Ring, Kembra Pfahler, The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black, and Backworld.

Photography and film work

Lee with Tessa Hughes-Freeland made the super-8 movie Dirty based on a George Bataille story

Lee appears in the films and photos of Jonas Mekas, Mike Kuchar, Richard Kern, Eric Kroll, Charles Gatewood, Nick Zedd and others. She is 3 years old in Mekas' film He Stands in a Desert Counting the Seconds of His Life (1969/1985). She appears both on the cover of Richard Kern's New York Girls and stars in his movies The Bitches and Nazi and in the music videos of The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black. The musicians of Amber Asylum all appear in a Journey video.
